Lipitab Asp 10 Capsule 10 is used for:

• Lowering overall cholesterol and bad (LDL) cholesterol levels

• Increasing good (HDL) cholesterol levels

• Reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and revascularization procedures in adults with multiple risk factors related to cardiovascular disease

• Managing homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia alongside other lipid-lowering therapies

Here's how you should take your Lipitab Asp 10 Capsule 10:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.

• It can be taken with or without food.

• You should aim to take your medicine at the same time each day for optimal effect.

Lipitab Asp 10 Capsule 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This ingredient belongs to the class of statins. It works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is important in producing cholesterol in your body. By doing so, atorvastatin increases LDL receptors on liver cell membranes, resulting in increased uptake and breakdown of LDL cholesterol, ultimately lowering plasma cholesterol and lipoprotein levels.

• Aspirin (75 mg): It belongs to the antiplatelet therapeutic group. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in platelets, reducing the production of thromboxane A2, which promotes platelet aggregation.
