Lipicard Capsule is used to manage high cholesterol levels, elevated triglycerides, and low HDL cholesterol. It helps control fat metabolism and is effective in treating primary hypercholesterolaemia, mixed dyslipidaemia, and severe hypertriglyceridaemia, improving lipid profile.

Here's how you should take Lipicard Capsule:

• Take this medicine orally with your meals.
• Swallow the capsule whole. Avoid crushing or chewing it.
• Always follow the dosage advised by your doctor.
• Consult your doctor before stopping this medication.

Lipicard Capsule is taken orally.

Lipicard Capsule contains fenofibrate (200 mg) which works on your body through the following mechanisms:

• Activation of PPARα: Fenofibrate initiates a type of protein called peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα). These proteins control genes that are involved in managing fats in your body.
• Lipolysis Promotion: By activating PPARα, fenofibrate allows your body to break down fats more effectively and remove fat-rich particles from your blood.
• Lipid Level Regulation: This process results in a decrease in LDL or "bad" cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B levels. It also helps increase HDL or "good" cholesterol levels.
• Uric Acid Reduction: Fenofibrate can also lower uric acid levels by encouraging its excretion through urine.

• Store Lipicard Capsule at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
• Keep the medicine in a dark place, protected from light and moisture.
• Always keep Lipicard Capsule out of reach of children.
• Make sure to use this medicine before the expiry date printed on its packaging.

• To help manage conditions like hypercholesterolaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia that Lipicard Capsule is often prescribed for, you could try maintaining a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet. This means avoiding foods high in saturated fats and cholesterol like red meat and full-fat dairy products.
• Regular physical exercise can also be beneficial. It helps increase your HDL (good) cholesterol levels while lowering your LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides. Remember to consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
