Lamitor DT-100 Tablet is used to control seizures in epilepsy and to help prevent severe mood episodes in bipolar disorder. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing lamotrigine in a dispersible tablet form, and belongs to a class of medicines called anti-epileptics.
This medicine works by steadying abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which reduces seizure frequency, and also helps stabilise mood by regulating certain brain chemical activity linked to mood episodes in bipolar disorder. Take this tablet at the same time each day, dispersed in water or swallowed whole as your doctor prescribes, and never change your dose without medical advice. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Getting regular sleep and avoiding alcohol can support seizure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor immediately if you develop a rash, especially in the first eight weeks of treatment, as this can rarely be a sign of a serious reaction needing urgent medical attention. Tell your doctor about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take before starting this medicine. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly or unless your doctor advises you to do so, as this can trigger seizures or a mood episode.
