Lamitor OD 100 Tablet is used for the control of epileptic seizures, prevention of seizure episodes in adults, and management of various types of epilepsy.

Uses of Lamitor OD 100 Tablet 10 are:

• Epilepsy: Controls and prevents focal and generalised seizures.
• Long-Term Treatment: Used for long-term treatment and prevention of seizure episodes in adults.

Follow these instructions while taking Lamitor OD 100 Tablet:

• You can take it with or without water.
• Do not chew, crush, or split the tablet.
• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.
• If you have any concerns about using this medicine, consult your doctor.

Lamitor OD 100 Tablet is taken orally.

Lamitor OD 100 Tablet contains lamotrigine (100 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Sodium channel blockade: Lamotrigine blocks voltage-sensitive sodium channels in neurons, which helps reduce the excessive firing of nerve impulses in certain areas of the brain.
• Neurotransmitter regulation: It decreases the release of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate (chemical messengers in the brain), which helps control abnormal electrical activity that can trigger seizures.
• Brain stabilisation: By regulating electrical activity in the brain, lamotrigine helps stabilise neural function, which is beneficial for controlling both seizures and the extreme mood swings associated with bipolar disorder.

• Store Lamitor OD 100 Tablet at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.
• Keep the medicine in its original container, tightly closed and protected from moisture.
• Store in a light-resistant container away from direct sunlight.
• Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.
