Lactifiber Syrup is a laxative medicine used to treat chronic constipation and manage hepatic encephalopathy (a liver-related brain dysfunction caused by high ammonia levels).
It contains lactitol monohydrate. It works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, making stools softer and easier to pass while promoting normal bowel movements. Mix the prescribed dose in a glass of water or juice and drink immediately as directed by your doctor.
Increasing dietary fibre intake (fruits, vegetables, whole grains), staying well-hydrated throughout the day, and engaging in light daily physical activity help maintain healthy digestion and bowel regularity.
Tell your doctor if you have severe intestinal blockage, unexplained abdominal pain, or galactosaemia before using this syrup. Maintain adequate daily fluid intake during treatment.
