Gutclear Syrup is a medicine used to manage chronic constipation and promote healthy bowel movements. It may also be used to manage hepatic encephalopathy in people with liver disease.
It contains lactitol, an osmotic laxative. It works by drawing water into the colon to soften stools and ease their passage. It also helps reduce ammonia absorption in people with liver disease. Take it as advised by your doctor and drink plenty of fluids throughout the day to help it work effectively.
Eating a diet rich in fibre, staying physically active, and drinking adequate water support normal bowel function alongside this medicine.
Consult your doctor before giving it to infants or children. It is not suitable for people with bowel obstruction, galactose intolerance, or inflammatory bowel disease. Tell your doctor if you have any of these conditions.
