Gutclear Syrup is used to manage chronic constipation and to support healthy bowel movements. It may also be used to manage hepatic encephalopathy in people with liver disease, as advised by your doctor.
It contains lactitol, an osmotic laxative. It works by drawing water into the colon, which softens the stool and eases its passage, and it also helps reduce ammonia absorption in the intestine in people with hepatic encephalopathy.
Take it as advised by your doctor, and drink plenty of fluids through the day to support its action.
Consult your doctor before giving it to infants or children. It is not suitable for people with bowel obstruction, galactose intolerance, or inflammatory bowel disease.
