Jalra-M 50mg/1000mg Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It combines vildagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, with metformin, a biguanide, and belongs to the class of oral antidiabetic medicines.
Vildagliptin increases levels of incretin hormones, helping the pancreas release more insulin and reducing glucose output from the liver, while metformin lowers blood sugar by reducing liver glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity in the body's tissues.
Take this tablet as prescribed with meals, usually morning and evening, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue to follow your recommended diet and exercise routine. Have your blood sugar and liver function checked as advised.
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, or heart failure, as dose adjustment or an alternative medicine may be needed. Report any unexplained abdominal pain, and seek urgent care for symptoms of liver problems such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or unusual tiredness.
