Gliptagreat M 1000 Tablet is primarily used for managing type 2 diabetes in adults. It combines a DPP-4 inhibitor with metformin, two active ingredients from the antidiabetic medicine class, and helps reduce the risk of serious complications linked with high blood sugar.
The DPP-4 inhibitor component increases levels of incretin hormones, prompting the pancreas to release more insulin, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, together improving blood sugar control and helping reduce the risk of complications such as kidney damage, nerve problems and eye disease.
Take this tablet daily, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue to follow your prescribed diet and exercise plan.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, and mention any planned surgery or contrast imaging. Report any severe abdominal pain, which can rarely signal pancreatitis.
