Hyponat-O 15 Tablet is used to treat low sodium levels in the blood (hyponatremia), particularly in patients with syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH). It helps restore sodium balance by removing excess water from the body. This effectively relieves symptoms such as confusion, fatigue, nausea, and headaches.

Here's how you should take Hyponat-O 15 Tablet:

• Always stick to the dose recommended by your doctor.
• Stick to the diet prescribed by your doctor during the entire course of this medicine.
• Do not discontinue the medicine if it is not directed by your doctor.

Hyponat-O 15 Tablet is taken orally.

Hyponat-O 15 Tablet contains Tolvaptan (15 mg), which works on your body in several ways:

• Vasopressin V2 Receptor Antagonist: Tolvaptan acts as a selective vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist. Vasopressin is a hormone that controls the balance of water in your body by promoting water reabsorption in your kidneys.
• Increases Free Water Clearance: By blocking the action of vasopressin on V2 receptors, Tolvaptan reduces water retention and increases free water clearance from your body.
• Promotes Aquaresis: The increased water clearance leads to a condition called aquaresis, which is an increase in urine output without significant changes in electrolyte excretion.
• Raises Serum Sodium Levels: With excess water being eliminated from your body through urine, there's a gradual increase in serum sodium concentration, helping correct hyponatremia.

• Store your Hyponat-O 15 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15 and 30°C.
• Keep this medicine in a tightly closed container, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children.
• Always check the expiration date before taking the tablet.

• If you have heart failure or liver cirrhosis, try to limit your salt intake. This can help manage your body's fluid balance.
• Stay hydrated, but avoid excessive water intake. Hyponat-O 15 Tablet corrects low sodium levels by promoting water excretion; drinking excess water may counteract its effects.
