Histakind Suspension is an allergy medicine used in children to manage symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic hives (urticaria). It provides relief from sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose or throat, and watery eyes.
It contains fexofenadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine that selectively blocks histamine H1 receptors to prevent allergic reactions. Give the suspension using a measuring spoon or cup as prescribed by your doctor, based on your child's age and weight. Continue the treatment for the duration advised by the healthcare provider.
Reducing allergen exposure helps improve allergy control in children. Keep indoor areas dust-free, limit outdoor playtime during high pollen counts, and wash your child's hands and face after outdoor play.
Before giving this medicine, inform your doctor if your child has any kidney or liver problems. Avoid giving fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit juice) around the time of taking this medicine, as they can reduce its effectiveness. Contact your doctor if symptoms persist or if unexpected side effects occur.
