Hefcard 50 Tablet is used to manage chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. It reduces the risk of cardiovascular death and lowers the likelihood of hospitalisation due to heart failure, improving heart function and long-term cardiac stability.

Hefcard 50 Tablet is taken orally.

Hefcard 50 Tablet consists of two active ingredients:

• Sacubitril (24 mg): Once taken orally, sacubitril transforms into LBQ657, an inhibitor of neprilysin. Neprilysin is an enzyme that breaks down natriuretic peptides (NPs), bradykinin, and other vasoactive peptides. By inhibiting neprilysin, sacubitril increases the levels of these peptides, particularly NPs. This results in improved diuresis, natriuresis, myocardial relaxation, and anti-remodeling.

• Valsartan (26 mg): Valsartan blocks the angiotensin II type-1 (AT1) receptor, effectively inhibiting the cardiovascular and renal actions of angiotensin II. This leads to a reduction in vasoconstriction, water and sodium retention, and cardiac hypertrophy.

• Ensure Hefcard 50 Tablet is stored in its original packaging to shield it from moisture.

• The ideal storage temperature is below 30°C.

• It's important to keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Always remember to use Hefcard 50 Tablet before its expiry date.

• Since Hefcard 50 Tablet is used for managing heart failure, incorporating a low-sodium diet would be beneficial. Consuming too much salt can lead to fluid retention which exacerbates heart failure symptoms.
