Fucibet Cream is used to treat bacterial skin infections that occur together with redness, itching and inflammation, such as infected eczema and infected dermatitis. It is a combination medicine containing fusidic acid and betamethasone, and belongs to the classes of medicines called antibiotics and corticosteroids.
This medicine works in two ways. Fusidic acid stops bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow, which clears the infection, while betamethasone reduces inflammation, helping to ease redness, swelling and itching.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area only, as directed by your doctor, and keep the cream away from your eyes and deeply broken skin. Complete the full prescribed duration so that the infection clears. Burning, stinging, itching, dryness or redness at the application site are common effects.
Because it contains a steroid, do not use it for longer than advised or on large areas of skin unless your doctor tells you to. Tell your doctor about any other skin conditions, other medicines you use on your skin, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting. Do not stop using it unless your doctor advises you to do so.
