CompositionFluvir Capsule is a medicine used to treat infections caused by the influenza virus (flu), including both Type A and Type B. It helps shorten the illness and reduce the severity of symptoms such as high fever, body aches, sore throat, and extreme tiredness.
It contains oseltamivir, an antiviral that blocks the enzyme the flu virus uses to spread from infected cells to healthy cells in the respiratory tract. Taken promptly, it can also be used to help prevent flu in people who have been exposed to it.
It works best when started within 48 hours of the first flu symptoms, as prescribed by your doctor, and the full prescribed course should be completed even if you feel better sooner.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease or have recently received a live flu vaccine.
