Febutaz 20 Tablet is used to manage chronic gout by lowering the level of uric acid in the blood. Keeping uric acid under control helps prevent the painful joint attacks, redness, and swelling that gout causes.
It belongs to a group of medicines called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. Take it with or without food at the same time each day as prescribed. Gout attacks can sometimes occur when first starting, as uric acid levels shift; do not stop the medicine if this happens.
Drinking plenty of water throughout the day, limiting alcohol, especially beer and spirits, and reducing high-purine foods such as red meat, seafood, and offal all help keep uric acid levels lower alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart disease, stroke, or kidney or liver problems. Your doctor may check your liver enzymes with blood tests during treatment. Tell your doctor about any rash, as some skin reactions can be serious. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
