Febutaz 20 Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of chronic gout in adults
• Prevention of painful gout attacks
• Lowering high uric acid levels in the blood
• Managing uric acid levels during cancer treatment
• Prevention of uric acid crystal formation in joints
• Alternative treatment when allopurinol isn't suitable
• Reducing risk of tumor lysis syndrome
• Long-term management of recurrent gout

Follow these instructions while taking Febutaz 20 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day while taking this medicine.
• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your treatment.

Febutaz 20 Tablet is taken orally.

Febutaz 20 Tablet contains febuxostat (20 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Xanthine Oxidase Inhibition: Febuxostat blocks an enzyme called xanthine oxidase that is responsible for converting purines into uric acid in your body.
• Uric Acid Reduction: By inhibiting xanthine oxidase, this medicine effectively decreases uric acid production, lowering uric acid levels in your blood.
• Crystal Formation Prevention: Lower uric acid levels help prevent the formation of uric acid crystals in your joints, which are the primary cause of painful gout attacks.
• Joint Protection: By maintaining uric acid within normal ranges, febuxostat helps prevent long-term joint damage that can occur with repeated gout attacks.
