CompositionEmpha L 25 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults, alongside diet and exercise. It is a combination antidiabetic medicine containing empagliflozin (an SGLT2 inhibitor) and linagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor).
It can also help reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with heart disease. It is not for type 1 diabetes. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and stay well hydrated during treatment.
Keep to controlled portions of rice, roti and sweets, stay physically active and maintain good genital hygiene to reduce infections.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, repeated genital or urinary infections or a history of pancreatitis and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Rarely, this class of medicine can cause diabetic ketoacidosis even when blood sugar looks normal, so seek urgent help for nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, severe tiredness or difficulty breathing. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
