CompositionEmpexel L 25/5 Tablet 10 is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults alongside diet and exercise, and it can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with heart disease. It is not for type 1 diabetes.
It contains empagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor that helps the kidneys remove excess glucose in the urine, and linagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor that helps the body release more insulin after meals.
Take it as prescribed, and stay well hydrated during treatment.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems, repeated genital or urinary infections, or a history of pancreatitis before use. Seek urgent help for nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, severe tiredness or difficulty breathing, as, rarely, this class can cause diabetic ketoacidosis even when blood sugar looks normal.
