Dytor Plus 20 Tablet is used to reduce fluid build-up (oedema) caused by heart, liver or kidney disease. It is a combination medicine containing torsemide (a loop diuretic) and spironolactone (a potassium-sparing diuretic).
It also helps control high blood pressure linked to excess fluid and swelling caused by hyperaldosteronism. Take it in the morning in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, so that passing urine does not disturb your sleep. Do not stop it suddenly, as fluid may build up again.
Cut down on salt, including pickles, papad and packaged snacks. Your doctor may also ask you to limit potassium-rich foods such as bananas and oranges and to check your weight regularly.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems or diabetes, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take, especially any that affect potassium levels. Report muscle weakness or an irregular heartbeat, and ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
