Dutas 0.5 Capsule is used to treat an enlarged prostate.

Uses of Dutas 0.5 Capsule are:

• Take your dose once a day, with or without food, as directed by your doctor.
• Continue taking Dutas Capsule even if you feel better, unless advised otherwise by your doctor.

Dutas Capsule contain dutasteride (0.5 mg), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Testosterone Conversion Inhibition: Dutasteride works by blocking an enzyme called 5-alphareductase in your body. This enzyme plays an essential role in converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
• Prostate Shrinkage: By inhibiting the action of 5-alphareductase, dutasteride effectively reduces DHT production. As DHT is the primary androgen stimulating prostate tissue growth, reduced levels lead to shrinking of the enlarged prostate gland over time.
