CompositionVeltride Tablet 10 is used to treat the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) in men, easing a weak stream, difficulty starting to urinate and incomplete emptying, and, over time, shrinking the prostate so surgery may be less likely.
It contains dutasteride, a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor. It works by lowering the hormone (DHT) that makes the prostate grow.
Take it once a day, with or without food, and swallow it whole. It may take several months to see the full benefit.
This medicine can affect PSA blood tests, so tell any doctor you take it. Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle the capsules, as the medicine can be absorbed through the skin. Report changes in sexual function, or breast tenderness or lumps.
