CompositionVeltride Tablet 10 is used to treat the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) in men. It is a single-ingredient 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor containing dutasteride.
It eases a weak stream, difficulty starting to pass urine and incomplete emptying, and over time shrinks the prostate so surgery may be less likely. Swallow it whole with or without food, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. It may take several months to see the full benefit.
Limit tea, coffee and alcohol and avoid large amounts of fluid close to bedtime.
This medicine can affect PSA blood tests, so tell any doctor that you take it. Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle it, as the medicine can be absorbed through the skin. Tell your doctor about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take, and report sexual changes or breast lumps. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
