Dutacet Tablet is used for the following:

• Improving urinary flow: This medicine helps streamline the flow of urine, reducing discomfort and inconvenience.

• Reducing the size of an enlarged prostate: Over time, it helps shrink the prostate back to a more normal size.

• Potentially decreasing the need for prostate surgery: Regular use of this medicine can sometimes help avoid surgical interventions.

Here are some guidelines on how to take Dutacet Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew, crush, or open the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine as prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel well.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice on dose and duration of use.

Dutacet Tablet is taken orally.

Dutacet Tablet comprises dutasteride (0.5 mg), which acts on the body as follows:

• Blocks 5-alpha-reductase: Dutasteride functions by obstructing a body enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme is instrumental in converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

• Reduces DHT levels: By impeding the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, dutasteride effectively decreases DHT levels. As DHT plays a significant role in the enlargement of the prostate gland, reducing DHT levels helps to shrink the prostate and alleviate BPH symptoms.

• Store Dutacet Tablet in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature, around 25 degrees Celsius.

• Keep this medicine away from light and moisture.

• Keep it out of the reach and sight of children at all times.

• If you are diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), consider reducing your caffeine intake. Caffeine can increase the frequency of urination and worsen BPH symptoms.
