Composition

Cyproterone (2 Mg) + Ethinyl Estradiol (0.035 Mg)

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 is used to treat moderate to severe androgen-sensitive acne in women when other treatments have not worked. It is a combination hormonal medicine containing cyproterone acetate and ethinylestradiol, an antiandrogen and an oestrogen.

This medicine may also be prescribed when acne is associated with excessive facial or body hair. Swallow it whole in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor; it should not be used only for contraception.

Before starting, tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, migraine with aura, liver disease or smoking, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. It must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 is used to treat androgen-sensitive acne in women when other treatments have not worked.

Uses of Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 are:

Moderate to Severe Acne: Treats androgen-sensitive acne in women after suitable topical treatment or antibiotics have not worked.
Acne with Hirsutism: Treats acne associated with excessive facial or body hair in women when prescribed.

Swallow Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
Do not change the tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 is taken orally.

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Cystelia 35 Tablet 21:

Digestive: Nausea and abdominal pain.
Nervous system: Headache.
Mood: Low mood or mood changes.
Breast and general: Breast pain or tenderness and weight gain.

Pregnancy

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women are not recommended to use Cystelia 35 Tablet 21. Inform your doctor while this tablet is prescribed to you during breastfeeding.

Liver

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 is not recommended to be used in patients with liver disease or liver impairment. If you have a liver problem, inform your doctor before this tablet is prescribed to you.

Kidney

Those with kidney impairment are also not recommended to take Cystelia 35 Tablet 21. If you have a kidney impairment, inform your doctor before this tablet is prescribed to you.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 is unlikely to affect the mental or physical abilities required to operate machines or drive a vehicle. Still, avoiding attentive tasks is recommended if you experience any side effects after taking this tablet.

Allergy

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to ethinylestradiol, cyproterone acetate, or any other ingredients in Cystelia 35 Tablet 21. Read the label and check the ingredients before taking this tablet to avoid allergic reactions.

Children

Cystelia 35 Tablet 21 can be used by females under 18 years of age. However, it is not intended for females before menstruation.

Anti-tubercular medications such as rifampicin. The concomitant use can reduce the effectiveness of this tablet.
St. John’s wort, the herbal remedy. The concomitant use can reduce the effectiveness of this tablet.
Immunosuppressants such as cyclosporine. The concomitant use can influence the effectiveness of this tablet.
Another hormonal contraceptive. Your doctor may recommend a different treatment as this pill is also a contraceptive, and concomitant use can affect the effectiveness of medications.
