Cyblex 30 XR Tablet is used to manage high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is prescribed when diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes alone are not enough to control blood sugar, and helps lower the risk of the long-term complications of diabetes.
It contains gliclazide and belongs to a group of medicines called sulfonylureas. It may be used on its own, or added when metformin alone is not sufficient, or when metformin is not suitable. Take it as prescribed, and continue taking it regularly even when you feel well, so that your blood sugar stays under steady control.
Alongside this medicine, a controlled carbohydrate intake, regular meals, weight management, and regular physical activity are important for keeping blood sugar stable. Do not skip meals while taking this medicine, as this can lead to low blood sugar.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, or are taking other medicines. Learn to recognise the signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), such as sweating, shaking, and confusion, and how to treat it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
