Cosvate GM Cream is used to treat inflamed skin conditions that are infected with bacteria or fungi. It is a combination medicine containing clobetasol propionate (a very strong steroid), gentamicin (an antibiotic) and miconazole (an antifungal).
This medicine is used for conditions such as infected eczema and dermatitis, and fungal skin infections with marked redness and itching. It reduces inflammation while treating the infection. Apply a thin layer only to the affected skin as directed by your doctor, usually for no more than 2 weeks, and wash your hands before and after use.
Keeping the affected area clean and dry, wearing loose cotton clothing and not sharing towels can help prevent the infection spreading.
This cream is for use on the skin only. As it contains a very strong steroid, do not use it on the face, groin, underarms or large areas, or under airtight dressings, unless your doctor advises, and use it with great care in children. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have acne, rosacea, or a viral skin infection, and about other medicines you use, especially blood thinners. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Long or heavy use can thin the skin. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
