CTD-O 6.25/40 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of high blood pressure or hypertension.

• Control of blood pressure when single-medicine therapy is inadequate.

• Prevention of severe complications related to hypertension such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.

Here's how you should take CTD-O 6.25/40 Tablet:

• Consume the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water.

• Do not break, chew, or crush the tablet.

• To avoid frequent urination at night, it's best to take this medicine in the morning.

• Do not alter the dosage without consulting your doctor.

• Avoid stopping the medication abruptly; always consult your doctor first.

CTD-O 6.25/40 Tablet is taken orally.

CTD-O 6.25/40 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): This ingredient is a long-acting diuretic that works by increasing the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water by your kidneys. It acts on a specific part of your kidneys called the distal convoluted tubule, reducing the reabsorption of sodium and chloride. This leads to an increase in urine output (diuresis), which helps lower blood volume and consequently, blood pressure.

• Olmesartan Medoxomil (40 mg): As an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, this ingredient works by blocking the binding of a substance called angiotensin II to certain receptors in your body. Angiotensin II narrows your blood vessels, raising your blood pressure. Therefore, by blocking its actions, Olmesartan helps your blood vessels relax and widen, reducing blood pressure.

• Store CTD-O 6.25/40 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.

• Keep it in a tightly closed container, protecting it from light and moisture.

• To ensure safety, always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Check the expiration date before use, and do not consume the tablet after its expiration.

• If you have hypertension, consider adopting a diet low in salt, as it can help manage your blood pressure. Sodium can cause water retention, which increases blood pressure.

• Regular physical activity is beneficial. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as walking or cycling, on most days of the week. Regular exercise can help lower your blood pressure and keep it under control.
