It combines losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic that helps the body remove excess salt and water. Take it as prescribed, ideally at the same time each day. Continue taking it even when you feel well.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control. As the diuretic increases urination, taking the dose earlier in the day helps avoid disturbed sleep.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, diabetes, gout or dehydration before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report marked dizziness, fainting or muscle cramps.
