Coldact Capsule is used to relieve symptoms of the common cold and nasal allergies, such as a blocked or runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes. It is a combination medicine containing chlorpheniramine maleate, an antihistamine (anti-allergic), and phenylephrine hydrochloride, a nasal decongestant.
This medicine is also used to ease nasal congestion and sinus pressure caused by colds, hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew it. It can be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor.
Resting, drinking warm fluids and inhaling steam can help ease a blocked nose. Avoiding dust, smoke, pollen and other known allergy triggers may also reduce symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, difficulty passing urine or an enlarged prostate, or liver or kidney disease, and about any other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This medicine may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving and alcohol until you know how it affects you. Report a fast heartbeat or a severe headache to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
