CompositionCipro 500 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, lungs, skin, digestive system, bones and joints, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, bladder and kidney infections, prostate infections and gonorrhoea.
It contains ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by blocking the enzymes bacteria need to copy their DNA, which stops them multiplying and clears the infection.
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed and complete the full course. Stay well hydrated to prevent crystals forming in the urine.
Tell your doctor about any history of tendon problems, muscle weakness or heart rhythm problems before starting. Stop and contact your doctor if you get tendon pain or swelling, or unusual changes in mood or sensation.
