Ciplox-TZ Tablet is used to treat diarrhoea and gut infections caused by a mix of bacteria and parasites, such as dysentery. It is also used for certain intra-abdominal, gynaecological and dental infections involving mixed bacterial and protozoal organisms.
It contains ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that stops bacteria copying their DNA, and tinidazole, which kills parasites and certain bacteria.
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed, at regular intervals, and complete the full course even if you feel better early. Avoid alcohol during treatment.
Tell your doctor about any tendon or heart rhythm problems before starting. Stop and contact your doctor if you get tendon pain or swelling, and report a metallic taste, nausea or dizziness.
