CompositionCfx Tn 500/600 Mg Tablet 10 is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial and parasitic infections of the digestive, respiratory and urinary systems. It combines ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, with tinidazole, used when an infection involves both bacteria and anaerobic organisms or parasites.
Ciprofloxacin stops bacteria from copying their genetic material, which kills them, while tinidazole works similarly against anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites, together giving broader antimicrobial cover for mixed infections.
Take this tablet as your doctor directs, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset, and complete the full course of treatment even if you begin to feel better, to prevent the infection returning and reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance. Drink adequate fluids during treatment to support recovery and protect the kidneys.
Avoid exposure to bright sunlight, as ciprofloxacin can increase sensitivity to UV light, and avoid taking antacids containing magnesium or aluminium at the same time, as they reduce absorption. If you develop tendon pain or swelling during treatment, stop the medicine and contact your doctor promptly, as fluoroquinolones can rarely affect tendons. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and avoid alcohol during and for at least 72 hours after treatment.
