Cinzine Plus 20/40mg Tablet 10 is used to prevent and manage motion sickness and vertigo in adults. It is a combination medicine containing cinnarizine and dimenhydrinate, and belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines that act on the balance system of the inner ear.
This medicine works by calming the balance system of the inner ear and the part of the brain that controls nausea, which eases the spinning sensation, dizziness and nausea. It is also used for dizziness and nausea linked to inner ear problems such as Meniere's disease and labyrinthitis. Swallow the tablet whole with water, without chewing or breaking it, with or without food. For motion sickness, take it before travelling.
For vertigo, move slowly when changing position and sit or lie down at the first sign of dizziness. For travel, sit facing forwards, look at the horizon and take fresh air where you can. Avoid heavy meals before travelling and avoid alcohol, which increases drowsiness.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have Parkinson's disease, glaucoma, stomach ulcers, epilepsy, liver or kidney problems, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you take other medicines, especially sedatives. Do not use it if you have angle closure glaucoma. It can cause drowsiness and blurred vision, so avoid driving or using machinery if you are affected. It is not recommended for children under 12 years, and older adults should use it with care.
