Laxitas Syrup is used to relieve constipation, including when it is linked to piles, surgery or heart conditions, by softening the stool and gently encouraging a bowel movement.
It combines liquid paraffin and milk of magnesia, which soften the stool, with a stimulant laxative that encourages the bowel to move.
Take it as prescribed, ideally at bedtime; it may take a day or two to work. Drink plenty of fluids alongside it.
Do not use it long term without medical advice, as regular use of stimulant laxatives can make the bowel rely on them. Report severe stomach pain, or constipation that does not improve.
