CompositionCanditral 100 Capsule is used to treat fungal infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, nails and skin. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing itraconazole 100mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called azole antifungals.
This medicine is used for oral and throat thrush, vaginal thrush, fungal nail infections, and skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot and pityriasis versicolor. Swallow the capsule whole straight after a full meal, as food helps absorption. Take it for the full course prescribed by your doctor, which may be several months for nail infections.
Keeping affected areas clean and dry, wearing breathable clothing and footwear, and maintaining good oral hygiene for mouth thrush can support recovery.
Do not take this medicine for skin, nail or vaginal infections if you have heart failure. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart, liver or kidney disease, and about all other medicines you take, as it interacts with many others. Women should use effective contraception during treatment and until their next period after finishing, and should tell their doctor if they are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you notice breathlessness, swollen legs, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or unusual tiredness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
