CompositionCandid TV Suspension is used to treat pityriasis (tinea) versicolor, a yeast infection that causes pale or dark patches on the skin, and dandruff. It is a combination medicine containing clotrimazole, an antifungal, and selenium sulfide, an anti-dandruff agent, and belongs to a group of medicines called topical antifungals.
This medicine is also used to help control seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp. Apply it to the affected skin or scalp as directed by your doctor, leave it on for the time advised, and then rinse off thoroughly. Skin colour may take some weeks to return to normal after the infection clears.
Keeping the skin cool and dry, wearing loose cotton clothing and washing towels and clothes regularly can help prevent the infection returning.
This medicine is for use on the skin and scalp only. Keep it away from the eyes and genital area, and do not apply it to broken or inflamed skin. Before using it, tell your doctor about any allergies or other skin treatments, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if irritation develops or symptoms do not improve after a few weeks. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
