Brivex Eye Drops 5ml

Brivex Eye Drops are used to manage open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. These drops help reduce intraocular pressure, preventing vision loss and maintaining eye health.

Use Brivex Eye Drops as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above your eye and squeeze out one drop.

• Close your eye gently and press your finger to the inside corner of your eye for about 1 minute, to prevent the liquid from draining into your tear duct.

• If you need to use another drop or a different type of eye medication, wait for at least 5 minutes before putting it.

• Always remember to consult with your doctor for more specific instructions.

Brivex Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Brivex Eye Drops have a compound composition working together to manage eye pressure:

• Brinzolamide (1%): Brinzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that reduces IOP by decreasing aqueous humour secretion. It works by selectively inhibiting the carbonic anhydrase II enzyme in the ciliary epithelium, which ultimately reduces bicarbonate ion formation and aqueous humour production.

• Brimonidine (0.2%): As an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, brimonidine reduces IOP by decreasing aqueous humour production and increasing uveoscleral outflow. This dual mechanism makes it an efficient ocular hypotensive agent.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): This ingredient acts as an antimicrobial preservative in the eye drops. It prevents microbial growth and contamination in the multi-dose container, ensuring the sterility of the solution.

• Store Brivex Eye Drops below 25°C.

• Keep them away from excessive heat and light, and don't freeze them.

• Discard any remaining portion 28 days after opening the bottle.

• Regular exercise can be beneficial in managing ocular hypertension or glaucoma, so try to incorporate activities like walking or cycling into your daily routine.

• A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, especially dark leafy greens, can help promote eye health. Always remember to hydrate well but avoid excessive caffeine as it may increase eye pressure.
