CompositionAtchol-10 Tablet is used to lower high LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. It is a single-ingredient statin containing atorvastatin.
It also slows the build-up of fatty deposits in the arteries and lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke, especially in people with diabetes or existing heart disease. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even when you feel well.
Avoid large amounts of grapefruit juice, as it can raise the level of this medicine in the blood. Eating less fried food and ghee also helps.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness straight away, as this can be a rare but serious side effect. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
