Ampanel 4 Tablet 10

Ampanel 4 Tablet is used for the following:

• Assisting in managing partial-onset seizures in adults with epilepsy

• As an adjunctive therapy to prevent secondarily generalised seizures in adults suffering from epilepsy

Ampanel 4 Tablet should be used as follows:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Avoid taking more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Ampanel 4 Tablet is taken orally.

Ampanel 4 Tablet contains perampanel (4 mg) and works in the following ways:

• AMPA Receptor Antagonism: Perampanel is a selective, non-competitive antagonist of the α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) receptor. This is a type of glutamate receptor in the brain. By blocking the AMPA receptor, perampanel reduces the abnormal and excessive neuronal activity that can lead to seizures.

• Seizure Reduction: The direct mechanism by which perampanel reduces seizures is not fully understood. However, its action on the AMPA receptor helps to manage the excessive neuronal activity that contributes to the occurrence of seizures.

• Store Ampanel 4 Tablet in its original packaging at room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C.

• Keep the medicine away from bright sunlight and avoid areas with high moisture, like bathrooms or kitchens.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Remember to use Ampanel 4 Tablet before the expiry date printed on the package.

• As seizures can sometimes be triggered by a lack of sleep, try to maintain regular sleep patterns. This helps your brain rest, which could help manage epilepsy better.

• Avoid alcohol as it can interfere with the effectiveness of Ampanel 4 Tablet and might increase the risk of seizures. Always consult your doctor about safe alcohol consumption.
