Eppen 4 Tablet 10

Eppen 4 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of partial-onset seizures

• Management of generalised seizures in adults

• Control of secondary generalisation in epilepsy

• Adjunctive therapy for recurring seizures

• Management of epilepsy in patients 12 years and older

• Regulation of abnormal brain electrical activity

• Prevention of seizures affecting part of the brain

Follow these instructions while taking Eppen 4 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Eppen 4 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Eppen 4 Tablet 10 contains Perampanel (4 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Glutamate receptor blockade: Perampanel works by blocking specific glutamate receptors in the brain called AMPA receptors, which play a key role in the transmission of electrical signals between nerve cells.

• Seizure prevention: By inhibiting these glutamate receptors, the medicine suppresses abnormal electrical activity in the brain that typically leads to seizures.

• Brain function regulation: This medicine helps maintain normal brain function by regulating chemical processes in the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system, preventing the excessive neuronal excitation that contributes to seizure development.

• Store Eppen 4 Tablet 10 at 25°C.

• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Dispose of unused medicine properly.

• Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking Eppen 4 Tablet 10, as alcohol can increase seizure risk and worsen side effects like dizziness and drowsiness.

• Maintain consistent sleep patterns and avoid sleep deprivation, as irregular sleep can trigger epileptic seizures that this medicine helps to manage.
