Acivir Syrup 100ml

Acivir Syrup is used to manage viral infections such as herpes simplex, chickenpox, and shingles. It helps reduce the severity of painful blisters, fever, and skin irritation. The syrup also supports treatment of Epstein–Barr and cytomegalovirus infections in patients with weakened immunity, helping control viral multiplication and speed up recovery.

To ensure effective use of Acivir Syrup, follow these steps:

• Shake the bottle well before taking a dose.

• Use the provided measuring cup to get an accurate dose.

• Maintain adequate hydration while taking this medicine.

• The medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Remember, this medicine is sugar-based, so if you have diabetes, consult your doctor before using it.

Acivir Syrup is taken orally.

Acivir Syrup contains aciclovir (400 mg), which acts on the body through the following mechanisms:

• Conversion to Active Form: Aciclovir is converted into its active triphosphate form by a virus-specific enzyme called thymidine kinase.

• Inhibition of Viral DNA Synthesis: The active form of aciclovir competitively inhibits and inactivates viral DNA polymerase, an essential enzyme for viral DNA synthesis.

• Selective Action: Because human cells do not efficiently convert aciclovir into its active form, the medicine selectively prevents viral DNA synthesis without affecting normal cellular processes.

• Keep Acivir Syrup at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.

• Store it in a tightly closed container, safe from light and moisture.

• Don't expose the syrup to excessive heat or cold.

• Always keep Acivir Syrup out of reach of children.

• If you're managing herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections, avoid sharing personal items like towels, toothbrushes, or eating utensils to prevent the virus from spreading.

• During a varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection like chickenpox or shingles, make sure to rest and hydrate well. Drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious meals to aid your body in fighting off the infection.
