Zole Skin Ointment is used to treat fungal skin infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, cutaneous candidiasis, and pityriasis versicolor. It works by controlling fungal growth, helping relieve itching, redness, scaling, and discomfort. Regular application supports faster skin recovery and prevents recurrence of infection.

• Start by cleaning and drying the affected area of your skin.

• Take a small amount of the ointment and gently rub it over the infected skin area.

• Ensure you apply the ointment twice daily, ideally in the morning and evening.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after every application to prevent spreading the infection.

Zole Skin Ointment contains miconazole nitrate (2 %). Here's how it acts on your body:

• Disruption of fungal cell membrane: Miconazole nitrate works by interrupting the structure of the fungal cell membrane. This is essentially the outer layer of a fungus cell that holds everything inside.

• Inhibition of ergosterol synthesis: Miconazole inhibits the production of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Without enough ergosterol, the cell membrane becomes leaky.

• Increased cellular leakage: As a result of the increased permeability caused by miconazole, cellular contents start leaking out. This stops the growth and spread of fungi in your body.

• Store Zole Skin Ointment at room temperature between 15°C to 30°C.

• Keep the ointment in a closed container away from direct heat and light.

• Avoid moisture exposure as it can degrade the medicine's effectiveness.

• Ensure it is stored out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.

• Always check the expiry date on the packaging before use; expired products may not be effective.
