Zonisep 100 Capsule is used for managing partial seizures in adults with epilepsy. It can be used as a standalone medication (monotherapy) or as a complementary therapy alongside other anti-epileptic medicines in both adults and children with epilepsy.

Zonisep 100 Capsule contains a single active ingredient: Zonisamide (100 mg). This medicine works in your body through the following processes:

• Sodium and Calcium Channel Regulation: Zonisamide helps to regulate the activity of sodium and calcium channels in your brain. These channels are involved in transmitting signals between brain cells. By stabilising these channels, Zonisamide can help to reduce the likelihood of a seizure.
• Neuronal Membrane Stabilisation: Zonisamide also works by stabilising the membranes of nerve cells (neurons) in your brain. This can help to reduce the likelihood of abnormal electrical activity occurring, which is what causes seizures.
• Suppression of Neuronal Hypersynchronization: By suppressing this abnormal synchronisation of neurons, Zonisamide can further help to prevent seizures from occurring. This is because seizures often occur when large groups of neurons become synchronised and start firing off signals all at once.

• Store your Zonisep 100 Capsule at room temperature, ideally between 20-25°C.
