Zonegran Tablet is primarily used to manage epilepsy, specifically partial seizures. This medicine falls under the category of anti-epileptic medicines, and can also be used for certain generalised seizures.
Zonisamide works by steadying abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which reduces the frequency of both partial and, in some cases, generalised seizures.
Take this tablet at the same time each day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and never change your dose without medical advice.
Do not stop this medicine suddenly, even if you feel well, as abruptly stopping an anti-epileptic medicine can trigger seizures. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine, as it can rarely be linked with kidney stones, and tell your doctor if you notice severe skin reactions or unusual confusion.
