Zonegran Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of partial seizures in adults: These are seizures that affect only a part of the brain.

• Control of generalized seizures in adults: Generalized seizures involve all areas of the brain.

• As an adjunctive therapy along with other anti-epileptic medicines: This means Zonegran Tablet is used along with other medications to better manage epilepsy.

Here's how you should take Zonegran Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• Do not exceed the dose recommended by your doctor.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

Zonegran Tablet is taken orally.

Zonegran Tablet contains Zonisamide (100mg) which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibition: Zonisamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. This means it can reduce abnormal electrical discharges in the brain, which are the primary cause of seizures.

• Neurotransmitter Effects: Zonisamide may also influence neurotransmitters like GABA, dopamine, and serotonin. These substances play a role in regulating the excitability of neurons, meaning that they control how often and how easily neurons fire. By affecting these neurotransmitters, zonisamide can help control and prevent seizures.

• Store your Zonegran Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C.
