To use Zonimid-100 Capsule properly, follow these directions:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Don't chew or crush it.
• Take the medicine at about the same time every day to ensure steady levels in your body.

Zonimid-100 Capsule contains Zonisamide (100 mg), which has the following effects on your body:

• Blocks Voltage-Gated Sodium Channels: Zonisamide reduces the capability of neurons to fire rapid and repetitive electrical signals. This action stabilises overactive regions in the brain.
• Inhibits T-Type Calcium Channels: These channels participate in generating some forms of electrical activity associated with seizures. By inhibiting these channels, zonisamide helps prevent the spread of seizure activity.
• Acts as a Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitor: Zonisamide also acts as a weak carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, which might contribute to its antiepileptic effects, though the exact mechanisms of this action are not yet fully understood.
