Zeet Cough Formula Syrup is used to relieve a cough with thick mucus that comes with cold or allergy symptoms. It is a combination medicine containing diphenhydramine (an antihistamine), ammonium chloride (an expectorant) and sodium citrate (an expectorant), and belongs to a group of medicines called cough and cold preparations.
This medicine is used for cough linked to bronchitis, upper respiratory tract infections and allergies, and also eases sneezing, a runny nose and watery eyes. It helps loosen phlegm so it is easier to cough up and soothes throat irritation. Measure each dose with the cup provided and take it with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor.
Drinking plenty of warm fluids helps thin mucus, and steam inhalation may ease chest congestion. Avoiding smoke and dust can reduce irritation of the airways.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, difficulty passing urine or an enlarged prostate, asthma, or liver or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take. It is not suitable for children below 2 years of age unless the doctor advises. Do not take it if you are breastfeeding, and tell your doctor if you are pregnant. It can cause drowsiness, so avoid driving and alcohol if affected. Contact your doctor if the cough lasts more than a week or comes with fever or breathlessness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
