Virson Ophthalmic Gel 5gm

Virson Ophthalmic Gel 5gm is used for:

• Treat herpetic keratitis, an eye infection caused by the herpes simplex virus
• Control viral infection affecting the cornea (the clear front surface of the eye)
• Support the healing of corneal lesions and ulcers associated with herpes simplex infection
• Relieve symptoms such as eye redness, irritation, pain, and light sensitivity linked to viral keratitis

Follow these instructions while using Virson Ophthalmic Gel 5gm:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the eye gel.
• Tilt your head slightly back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
• Apply the prescribed amount of gel into the lower conjunctival sac of the affected eye.
• Avoid touching the tip of the tube to the eye or surrounding surfaces.
• Close the eye gently for a few moments after application.
• If using other eye medicines, maintain a gap of at least 15 minutes between applications.

Virson Ophthalmic Gel 5gm is for ophthalmic use only.

Virson Ophthalmic Gel 5gm contains the following components:

• Ganciclovir (1.5 mg): This antiviral medicine works by interfering with viral DNA replication in infected cells. After entering infected ocular cells, it is converted into its active form, which inhibits viral DNA polymerase and prevents viral multiplication. This helps control herpes simplex virus infection in the cornea and supports the healing of corneal lesions.
• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): This ingredient acts as a preservative that helps maintain sterility and stability of the ophthalmic gel during storage and use. It also prevents microbial contamination of the product.

• Store below 30°C.
• Keep the tube tightly closed after use.
• Do not touch the applicator tip to avoid contamination.
• Discard the tube 4 weeks after opening.
• Keep out of reach of children.

• Avoid rubbing or touching infected eyes to prevent worsening of the infection.
• Wash your hands frequently to reduce the spread of viral infection.
• Avoid sharing towels, eye cosmetics, or contact lenses.
• Avoid wearing contact lenses during an active eye infection unless advised by your doctor.
