Veloz 40 Tablet is a medicine used to manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition where stomach acid flows back into the food pipe, causing heartburn and acid discomfort. It is also prescribed to heal peptic ulcers in the stomach and upper intestine, and to control hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
It contains rabeprazole, which belongs to a group of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Take it as prescribed, preferably before meals in the morning, and swallow the tablet whole with water. Continue taking it for the full duration advised by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve quickly. Do not stop taking it suddenly without medical advice.
Lifestyle and dietary modifications can significantly support recovery alongside this medicine. Avoid foods that trigger acidity, such as excessive spices, caffeine, citrus fruits, and fatty meals, and avoid lying down immediately after eating.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have severe liver problems, osteoporosis, or are taking other medicines. Prolonged use may require monitoring of magnesium and vitamin B12 levels. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting treatment.
