Tenlimac M 1000 Tablet SR is a combination medicine used to lower high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is prescribed when diet, exercise, and treatment with a single blood sugar medicine do not provide adequate control. Maintaining healthy blood sugar levels reduces the risk of long-term diabetic complications such as kidney damage, nerve problems, vision loss, and cardiovascular events.
It combines metformin with teneligliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor. Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver and improves body insulin sensitivity, while teneligliptin stimulates the release of insulin from the pancreas in response to food. Take the tablet whole with or after meals as prescribed to reduce stomach discomfort. Continue taking it regularly as advised by your doctor, even if your blood sugar readings improve.
A balanced diet with controlled carbohydrate intake, regular physical activity, weight management, and routine blood sugar monitoring are essential components of your treatment plan alongside this medicine.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, or heart conditions, or if you drink alcohol regularly. Seek urgent medical attention if you experience persistent nausea, severe stomach pain, unusual tiredness, or rapid breathing, as these can occasionally be signs of a serious complication called lactic acidosis.
