Tenefit-M Forte Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of two active ingredients:

• Metformin Hydrochloride (1000 mg): As part of the biguanide class of antidiabetic medicines, metformin works primarily by lowering blood sugar levels. It does so by reducing the amount of glucose produced by your liver and decreasing the absorption of glucose from your intestines. Additionally, it enhances insulin sensitivity which leads to an increased uptake and use of glucose by your body's peripheral tissues.

• Teneligliptin (20 mg): Known as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, teneligliptin increases the active levels of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP in your body. These hormones stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon levels in a manner dependent on glucose levels. By inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme that breaks down these incretins, teneligliptin helps to control blood sugar levels more effectively.
