Temsan-40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the long-term risk of heart attack and stroke. It is a single-ingredient angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) containing telmisartan.
Lowering blood pressure reduces the strain on the heart and on organs such as the kidneys and brain. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even if you feel well.
Reducing salt in your diet (including pickles, papad and packaged snacks), staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding smoking and limiting alcohol can support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
This medicine should not be used during pregnancy, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Before starting, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver conditions, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Contact your doctor for persistent dizziness, swelling or a marked fall in blood pressure. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
