CompositionInditel 40 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing telmisartan 40mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).
This medicine blocks a hormone that narrows the blood vessels, allowing them to relax and widen so blood pressure falls. Lowering blood pressure reduces the long-term strain on the heart, brain and kidneys. Take it once a day at the same time, with or without food, and keep taking it even when you feel well.
Reducing salt, eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, staying active, keeping a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and not smoking all help control blood pressure.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, as it can harm an unborn baby; tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, narrowing of the kidney arteries, high potassium, heart valve disease or dehydration, and about other medicines you take, especially potassium supplements, water tablets or painkillers. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, and if you feel faint or dizzy. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
