Newtel-40 Tablet consists of telmisartan (40 mg), which works as follows:

• Angiotensin II Receptor Blockage: Telmisartan selectively binds to the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor found in various tissues like vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. This inhibits the actions of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict.
• Blood Pressure Reduction: By blocking angiotensin II's action, telmisartan relaxes blood vessels and decreases blood pressure levels.
• Aldosterone Secretion Reduction: Apart from causing vasoconstriction, angiotensin II also stimulates the secretion of aldosterone, a hormone that can increase blood pressure. Telmisartan helps reduce aldosterone secretion, contributing to its blood pressure-lowering effects
